Voltage analog input
• The C3 inputs can measure voltages up to 10 V
• Higher voltage ranges can be measured by employing a divider resistor to
match the 10 kΩ internal input impedance (Figure 18 right) and setting the

Serial devices
• The C3 supports connection to two-wire RS485 (Figure 19), standard
RS232 (Figure 20) and SDI-12 (Figure 21) serial devices
• Devices can be powered via the 12 V (600 mA) output associated with the
port or powered separately
• RS485 and SDI-12 are addressed multi-drop buses and so can have
more than one device connected to the same port provided that each
EFWJDFJTDPOæHVSFEXJUIBVOJRVFBEESFTT
• For best performance multiple connections to the RS485 or SDI-12 ports
should be made along a single length of cable with the C3 at one end.
This is known as a daisy-chain.
